SPRING HILL, Florida — When a roach hits your eye and you still eat the pie, that’s amore.

At least that was the case for celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, who spent the week visibly agitated yet enjoying a food affair while filming an episode of his hit reality series “Kitchen Nightmares” at Village Pizza on Deltona Boulevard.

Ramsay told local media he spent the week particularly flustered over the pristine Italian roundbreads being baked in what he deemed horrid conditions.

“Wow, I’ve never f***ing seen anything like it,” Ramsay said. “The kitchen was filthy, the employees were negligent, the presentation and customer service were bloody offensive, but somehow the pizza was still perfect. I couldn’t stop myself from eating it.”

Ramsay experienced what so many in Spring Hill have known for years: No matter how many violations are found during health inspections, regardless of whether the restaurant was briefly shuttered to deal with a roach problem, despite knowing delivery time is more than two hours, with no regard for the intimidating pizza chefs fighting amongst one another staring down carry-out customers, one cannot stop the urge to pillage a Village.

“The first couple days with Chef were really rough because he kept yelling and yelling and he kicked in like four of our trash cans,” Village employee Tina Montgomery said. “But he finally tasted the pizza, and like, you know how in in most episodes he gets mad and insults the food? Well, this time he ate two pizzas by himself in the parking lot.”

Ramsay said the five-day visit made him question everything he thought he knew about running a successful restaurant.

“It’s the queerest goddamn thing,” Ramsay said. “I thought I could turn things around, but they don’t want to be helped. They don’t even need to be helped. The delivery times are outrageous, dust and filth everywhere, the employees are dysfunctional with one another and worse with customers. But people are still ordering it as fast as they can bake it. It’s bollocks.”
